Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician from Mexico, was born to a music-loving family. Growing up, she listened to many traditional music as well as old Boleros. Also, she listened to traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana loves tangos, operas and other dramatic shows. Following her singing lessons with mom and sister, she began more intense singing lessons at the age of 16, under the direction of the renowned Mexican Tenor FlavioBecerra. Her musical education continued in the School of Music of Guadalajara University, and then the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous chamber and opera choirs. Following her move in the United States, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2002 she relocated to southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer with traditional Latin American music at private events. The passion and love she has for art, music, and performing has her involved with many local organizations as a performer and teacher. Ana was also a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor at The Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, through her sharing songs from Latin American traditional songs, that she can inspire a love, especially among the younger generation in keeping the music vibrant.
